I love so many different aspects of wedding photography but none more than the little moments I have the honor of documenting year after year. It's what pushes me to be better at what I do. Having the ability to deliver these moments, frozen in time, to my couple's and their families is why I do what I do. I made a quick selection of some of my favorite moments from the past few years. It's a little reminder to myself why my job is pretty special.
I love when I get a chance to shoot a newborn/family session like this. Especially for people I love working with. Lynn and Rich are past wedding clients of mine and have to absolutely beautiful daughters. It was great to spend a couple hours with them all. This was such a fun early morning shoot on a small, private airport. The shot with the plane flying over Michelle and Tony at the end of this post was was 1 of the scariest moments for me! Even though we were warned by the 17 year old pilot that it's going to look like the plane is flying right at us until the last moment, I still wasn't ready for that. I'm lucky I was able to get that shot because I was about to barrel roll out of the way and yell to the couple "GET DOWN". It probably wasn't that close but too close for me. Anyways enjoy a few photos from the shoot.
This is my favorite post to put together every single year, by far. I kind of pinch myself as I'm sorting the wedding images because it's a huge reminder of how lucky I am to be able to do THIS for a living. Having the opportunity to document a day that is so special to people is truly an amazing feeling. Before every single wedding, my anxiety and nerves are off the charts. I'm extremely hard on myself and always trying to find ways to do things better, work harder, improve my skills. By the end of a wedding night (as I'm sure many photographers are) I am absolutely spent. I put everything I have into a wedding day both mentally and physically and I've come to realize that I absolutely love doing it. If I have any doubts, this yearly posts always puts everything back into perspective.
It gives me a chance to relive the moments that I'm grateful to get to witness. I cant believe this is the end of my 9th year doing this.
